Perplexing Puzzles | Brand Identity Design

Perplexing Puzzles is a brand of challenging wooden jigsaw puzzles in the classic piece style with a number of unique “whimsical” pieces. The idea of cutting pieces into unique shapes dates back to the Victorian days when the puzzle makers would cut different shapes on a whim, giving these pieces their name.

The client requested that the branding have a Victorian look and feel but to also be somewhat contemporary. We achieved that with a mix of those styles in the fonts, colors, and the graphic elements. The brain illustration in the symbol of the logo is representative of the difficulty level of the puzzles and is made up of the whimsical puzzle piece shapes.
