Dockside Cafe | Logo Design

Dockside Cafe was a casual coffee shop and eatery located on Lake Norman in Charlotte, North Carolina. The identity needed to feel relaxed, welcoming, and connected to its waterfront location while still reading immediately as a cafe.

I designed the logo around a simple visual combination of coffee and the lake. A steaming coffee cup sits above a dock extending over stylized blue waves, bringing the cafe experience and its waterside setting together in one compact illustration.

The circular composition gives the mark the feel of a classic cafe emblem, while bold, contemporary typography keeps it approachable and easy to recognize. The limited blue, black, and white palette reinforces the connection to water without making the identity feel overly nautical.

The result is a distinctive restaurant and cafe logo that communicates both what Dockside Cafe offered and the laid-back Lake Norman setting that made the business unique.
