WORK : EVENT BRANDING
NYC2000
NYC2000 was created for the Mayor’s Office of the City of New York to brand the city’s millennium celebration and its landmark New Year’s Eve festivities in Times Square.
I developed a distinctive typographic logo that transforms the NYC2000 letterforms into a cityscape, with illuminated windows becoming falling confetti—a visual connection between New York’s skyline and the celebration happening below.
The identity became part of the city itself, appearing on Times Square screens, lamppost banners, taxi medallions, event promotions, and other citywide communications throughout 2000. My team also designed promotional materials for New York City’s Fourth of July celebrations and the Mayor’s private event, extending the NYC2000 visual language across a year of major civic events.
