Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival | Commemorative T-Shirt

Santa Barbara Sea Glass & Ocean Arts Festival selected the Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute (CIMWI) as its 2024 Giving Back recipient, recognizing the organization’s work in marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation, research, and education.

I was asked to create a special-edition commemorative T-shirt that would celebrate the festival while also honoring CIMWI’s connection to ocean and wildlife conservation. I developed a custom illustration featuring a sea lion framed within a scallop shell and surrounded by seaweed, tying the artwork directly to the marine environment and the spirit of the event.

The finished design brings together custom illustration, event branding, and cause-related merchandise in a piece that feels playful, coastal, and purposeful—while helping spotlight the important work of a local marine wildlife organization.
