WORK: LOGOS / IDENTITIES
The Fret No More Foundation | Logo Design
The Fret No More Foundation, founded by guitarist Marie Gabrielle, is a nonprofit organization that helps talented young women pursue their passion for music by providing them with donated guitars they might not otherwise be able to afford. Instruments are contributed by the public, professional studio musicians, and Broadway guitarists, then repaired and refurbished before being gifted to students.
I designed the logo and visual identity to bring together the organization’s focus on music, young women, and opportunity in a single, memorable mark. The primary symbol is enclosed in a shape inspired by a guitar pick, immediately connecting the identity to the instrument at the heart of the foundation’s mission. Within that shape, the vertical guitar neck and fretboard intersect with an abstract graphic that loosely references the female symbol and goddess imagery, creating a visual connection between guitar culture and the young women the organization supports.
The result is a distinctive nonprofit identity that feels musical, empowering, and approachable while clearly supporting The Fret No More Foundation’s mission to help young women gain access to the instruments they need to learn, grow, and keep playing.
