The Parasympathetic Life | Logo Design

The Parasympathetic Life is the practice of Elizabeth DeLaBarre, a practitioner of the Fajardo Method of Holistic Biomechanics™. Her work focuses on helping clients develop greater bodily awareness, adaptability, and resilience by supporting movement patterns associated with the parasympathetic nervous system.

I designed the logo and brand identity around the concept of tensegrity—the structural balance found throughout living organisms. Elizabeth wanted the identity to communicate the idea of building that balance within the body, so I developed a sequence of flowers shown at successive stages of growth.

The evolving flower forms create a visual metaphor for development, balance, resilience, and transformation. Soft greens, blues, and violets give the identity an organic, restorative quality, while the progression from bud to full bloom reinforces the idea of the body becoming more integrated and adaptable over time.

The resulting identity feels calm and approachable without relying on predictable wellness imagery. After completing the logo, I extended the visual language into a custom Squarespace website designed to explain Elizabeth’s method and give her an easy-to-manage platform for her practice.
